By 2040 one-third of commercial vehicles worldwide could be electric. That massive shift toward fleet electrification is good news for the health of both people and the planet. Whether it’s cost savings, sustainability goals or adhering to government environmental targets, the motivations for the shift to electric are diverse.
- Fleets Electrification: Logistics & Transportation
- Total Cost of Ownership: Fleets Electrification Driver
- EV Performance Planning for e-Commerce & Freight
- The Indian auto-mobility industry is currently evolving towards electrification as electricity is a domestically produced transportation fuel that will transform our nation’s transportation sector. With increasing demand for electric vehicles, as well as the convergence between engineering and modern technology (Rs. 3K crore Investments in Indian EV start-ups by corporate, venture capital and private equity firms) *, logistics companies like Mahindra Logistics, DHL, Amazon, and Flipkart, among others, have already made substantial investments to convert their cargo fleet to electric in the coming years.
- The adapting to vehicle electrification is giving lower TCOs and operating costs for commercial uses when it comes to last mile delivery within the city. Electric vehicle fleet management is overseeing the charging needs of fleet drivers and electric vehicles as well as ensuring the charging infrastructure is optimized to fulfil those needs.
- EV fleet management considers the big issues of electric vehicle charging requirements. The volume of vehicles and distances travelled must be analysed to determine the number of depot and/or “on the road” charge points required and the distance between them – whether owned and operated by the fleet owner, public charge points, or home-based charge points for lighter vehicles. This directly addresses the issue of range anxiety, ensuring vehicles have access to charge points when and where they need them, whether on the road or at the depot, so they can complete their missions.
The live+ online training program of pManifold’s EV Academy on “EV Performance planning for e-commerce and freight delivery” will provide you in depth knowledge on the ‘Planning of EV Fleet for Specific Objectives’. It will enable you to develop a holistic understanding of EV Energy Modelling, Risks of Vehicle / charger breakdowns, Route scheduling, and Battery-Charger sizing. It will allow Freight Transporters to understand the EV fleet relevant policies, and how to diagnose the existing EV Fleet for effective operations.
The regulatory push in the country to reduce emissions is the strong driving force to adopt e-Trucks across the logistics and transport sectors, which currently contribute 3 to 5 percent of global CO2 emissions. To bring higher air quality and better health outcomes, we must transition to a fully zero-emission truck and bus fleet as soon as possible.
